This week was a horrible week for me. Our washing machine died a natural death...cannot be resusitated...it just went off.......powerless... After 4 years of faithful service to our clothes...we finally bid farewell to our washing machine.....
I discovered its end when our laundry hamper was skimping for space...time for WM to work. So i sort the clothes and placed the first batched in and turn the WM on when it isn't responding to my demand anymore.....Oh my...I thought...as a look again at my overflowing hamper......no this cant be..Right that moment i quickly dialled my kabayan technician to see if he can come over and check our WM...after 3 hours Kuya Technician came and check the WM and finally he said the final verdict....NO CHANCE - you just have to buy a new one.... O my... I said it again...thinking about the overflowing hamper...
Very well , I said,I can manage. This should be easy, Im trained to do this... no fear. So here come the heroic supermom in action, first i started to sort the clothes and send the formal ones and the pants( which is heavy for handwash) to laundry and left the kids clothes for my newly manicured hands.
I sat on our small toilet and start rubbing my hands in each clothes...kuskus..piga...kuskus...piga...the first batched was easy...so i took another batched ( it was almost a week of dirty clothes of 5 people who changes clothes more than 3x a day- because of the extreme heat) .. as i fill more garments in....i began to feel discomfort with my dripping sweat... (imagine doing a laundry with a hot water ( around 32-35 degrees) in a sauna like bathroom ( 45*C- with small ventilation ) what more , my arms drooped with the uncomfortable position and i felt burning sensation on my hands as I use a detergent for the machine...after completing the second batched i was soaked with sweat, water and tears.....cant do this anymore....whahhhhh....I felt i have drained all my electrolytes....my heroic appeal have given up....
Believed me...its tough...I was wondering how our parents survived the old times when washing machine was not yet invented. I know, I was trained to do handwashing in my early years but since it has been a while since i did this...cant believe how I have been over dependent on this contraption....that doing the basics is already a difficult task for me.
This is the age when our time is conveniently manage with the gadgets that aids us ....specially us ,women, to do our house duties, parenting task and wife roles and at the same time keeping on with our goals, careers and vanity... It made me realized how much we need washing machine, vacuum cleaners, dryers, rice cookers, microwave, steam iron, mobile phones and even hair straigthening iron and curlers to manage our day.
After 3 days of doing handwashing, i have stopped grumbling and complaining...instead I started to teach myself to be thankful that I have live in this age where I can use the help of this machine so I can go on and do other things that are more important. I still do piece by piece, rubbing the clothes one by one...as a new WM is still to come...Just be thankful...least we can afford to buy a new one.

Recently, I have come across an article by Dr. Mao Shing on how to combat stress in your daily living. One of his advise is to get the stress out of your head and write it in a paper or in a blog (such as this). He wrote that when you look into your inner thoughts you will have gain insights on your feelings and be able to refelct on your issues.
This week is a though week for me. I finally made the decision to resign. I know it sounds ridicule. While everyone is trying to keep their job, here I am actually leaving my job. I am hoping my best that it was a good decision. It took me a lot of thinking, and i mean serious thinking. And trust me the reason behind is not because i am being lazy and selfish, no not at all. Lets just say that right now I am trying to get back to the basics, repair and mend and clean and get up and start all over again.

How do we know when it is time to move to another job
I have been working as a school nurse for the past 2 years now. This is one job I like so much not only because the work is light but because I am in charge of the clinic, no one there to demand me on what to do every now and then. To add are the short school timings and all holidays off I get- meaning if the school is closed for half term, sem break, winter break and all breaks I am on holiday as well. These are benefits that I enjoyed for the past year. However this term our school management decided to add extra hours to our duty for whatever reason they have in mind, it bothers most of the staff as we are already used with the previous timing - which as I have said a benefit to all of us. And since we dont go together with the children they have arranged a new transporation for us. I dont mind it at first but then later on since I was not opening my opinion, they started to take advantage of my silence. I dont know if it is because of my race or they just enjoy the torture of pushing me . I was given an unfair transport dropping me to a stopped where i have to walk 2 blocks and cross a highway while the teachers and other staff gets the priviledge of being dropped exactly at their doorsteps. It really pisses me off because i have been requesting for quite some time and the issue is not resolved like they intend to leave it like that. I feel that it is really unfair since I know that i have given my entirety for the job and I have made a lot of compromise for my self just to exceeed in my performance . I know i have the passion for the children, I have good relationship with parent and make sure that they are satisfied with me taking care of their children. I am prompt with reports, organization and all. So i really feel that it is not fair to be treated this way. This has cause me to contemplate on shifting to another job. As i have been waiting for a long time for this things to be resolved yet all I get are promises that looks like bound to be broken. Little by little I am losing my motivation to pursue excellence. I started to feel tired than joyful.
So how do we know when it is time to move to another job. I cannot think now. I dont know how.

I am me
I am someone who finds things to keep me busy...I dont want any idle time except when I am sleeping. I like to read books, I love teaching children, I like to innovate , I always want to be different. Although I believe in learning by immitation, i always want to do something that will show my personality. I am very passionate. I love my family and they are my priority. My kids although they are most of the time annoying ... i love them so dearly. I am passionately in love with my husband and i respect him as the head of my family. I have a shallow tears sac, expect them to come bursting even in a not so touching movies... I like to be organize...i keep our home neat and our bedroom inviting for sleep, documents arrange, desktop clean, toilets tidy and dry, closets arrange, anything that is disrupting my vision goes to trash. I am a good cook... I make up recipes and most of the time it comes good an tasty....I am a dove tailer... i can do a lot of things at the same time..this is one thing that i inheret from my mom. I have a short temper and I easily flares up...although I am working to manage this out. I love to shop...when there is enough budget...I am an impulse buyer...but i am also working to control this habit as I am an into keeping my finances out of the rat race... I am overweight for the last 9 years since the birth of my first child and everyday since then i have been trying to lose ...Im looking till age 40 to fully accomplish that, one step at a time and I keeping my goal. I am a night person... I like working when I am alone at night... I am most productive when working alone though I can also work in team. I have superior personality and most of the time I am in charge. I belive in Christ as my Lord and Savior, my provider and my source of all. I have kept John 10:10b as my motivation to keep and sustain ..."That Jesus came that we might have life and have it aboundantly"..and I am mindful that the previous statement on that verse is a big warning to be on guard all the time. I believe in reward and punishment, that there is always a consequence to what you do. On who and how I have become is born from all the I have learn from the trials i've been, lessons taught to me, mistakes made by me and by others as well, punishment of a superior, fear of the Lord , books read, good and painful experiences, hunger, distraught, suffering, joy, family ties and most of all love... I know that I am special and was fearfully and wonderfully made…that I have a purpose. One step at a time…
Christmas Shopping
Shopping is fun and annoying at the same time. I dont know why I enjoy it...I think it all runs in every womens blood..or maybe it is in the hormones. Most women are inclined to shop. And I dont know why in the midst of the traffic and rush in the stores with too many people shopping, i still enjoy it. I savor every minute of it...from pushing of the trolley cart to picking of things i like to fitting of clothes ...to paying... opps... with my chief financial officer with around..it then becomes annoying. This is the reason I dont want to shop with my husband, however if he knows that I am shopping he always would want to come with me. He is my kontrabida ( my villain). He will always try to stop me. He will bug me with questions like...Do you really need that? (Kailangan mo ba yan?) Did'nt you have that before? (Di ba may ganyan ka dati?) Isnt that too expensive? ( Baka may mas mura pa, mahal yan) or sometimes he will use other tricks like making me kunsensya... Its up to you , if thats what you want...I'm just thinking of the money we spend. (Ikaw gud mao man kaha imong gusto? basta ako sayangan ko sa kwarta.) He knows that the last trick will most of the time works because I am also working on my being compulsive spender... so that will make me think. Every purchase will be a deliberation of arguments and presentation of advantages and benefits...I am like a sales agent trying to convince my husband to approve the purchase. If my motivation is high , i would most likely be able to win the argument and sometimes I also use tricks of making sapotsapot kunuhay...til i will end up fighting with him and crying ...so he will say his yes!Last saturday, me and my husband went for our christmas shopping. It is the first time that i spent a whole day for shopping only . From the time the stores open at 930 in the morning till 12 midnight, hopping from one store to another and driving from one place to another. It drive us into two cities and took us ten stores to finish the day, i said finish the day coz even then I am not yet done. Still more to buy..It is not all from our pocket although i wish I am that rich. We shop for our christmas party in the church. Being the teacher of the Friday school ( I always have to elaborate this to avoid confusion - friday is same as sunday school since our church day here in UAE is friday); I was tasked to buy and wrapped gifts for the kids and youth. I am glad it was not all from my pocket because with the CFO around I know the deliberation will be long, all he could ask is...is it for us or the church? So i was able to buy other things for myself without too much bugging. I took advantage of buying our own christmas presents for our kids too at the amount that I like, and since I am redecorating our bedroom , I also bought new set of curtains and rods. I did told him that I bought a new things to accesorize the house. It bothers him a for a while but when he tried to open his mouth I quickly told him it was cheap and that it is already out in the counter.Whew, I feel like I was out from prison being able to buy without hassle...but when I get home and count all the expenses incurred..I was also worried having spend more than the budget...I came to realized...In the end my husband has his own point to be considered too. Even when it is annoying.
